Mojo Delivers 41x Speedup Over Python in Initial Open Source Tests

marketbrief.now

Early performance benchmarks for the Mojo programming language show a 41x increase in execution speed for specific data kernels over Python, with a user port of iCorrVision software reducing processing time of a uniaxial tensile test from 18.3 minutes in single-threaded Python to 26.7 seconds using 24 threads in Mojo. The same test run on a single Mojo thread finished in 3.3 minutes, representing a 5.6x improvement over Python. Modular founder Chris Lattner also reported that the newly open MAX graph compiler has outperformed llama.cpp on mobile CPU and GPU hardware.
