CEO Jensen Huang announced the company will buy convertible bonds from Taiwanese chipmaker MediaTek to formalize a partnership for building AI factories. The $3.5 billion investment deepens collaboration across cloud infrastructure, local AI computing, and automotive platforms, allowing MediaTek to adopt Nvidia's NVLink Fusion and NVHBM technologies to integrate custom XPUs into rack-scale AI systems.

The expansion occurs as MediaTek targets $2 billion in AI chip revenue this year and aims for a 15% share of an $80 billion data-center segment next year. The companies will continue developing RTX Spark and DGX Spark PC chips for supercomputers and workstations, as well as platforms for AI-powered software-defined vehicles.
