Nvidia is finalizing a deal to provide credit support and invest in SB Energy to fund the construction of OpenAI's planned data center campus in Ohio. The chipmaker is in talks to provide roughly $100 billion in financial guarantees and an investment of up to $3 billion in the SoftBank owned developer, according to The Information.

The support is a reduction from a previously discussed $250 billion backstop as Nvidia seeks to lower its balance sheet exposure. The campus could eventually cost $500 billion and require 10 GW of power, with the current guarantee designed to finance the first phase of the buildout to ease investor concerns, according to the Wall Street Journal.
