The development team behind OpenClaw released a comprehensive overhaul involving 933 contributors and a complete project rebuild. The update merges more than 16,000 pull requests, roughly half of the project's total history, and introduces "Shared Cloud Sessions" for multiplayer collaboration. A rebuilt browser application now allows users to chat, continue tasks, and monitor agent activity in real time.
The project used its own agent to orchestrate the update, a process the team described as "build OpenClaw with OpenClaw." The release followed a nearly 7 week development gap, contrasting with a previous pace of 106 versions in 230 days. Among the contributors, 569 were first-time participants, and new installation features now automatically detect existing ChatGPT, Claude, and local API keys.
