OpenAI plans a mass market consumer version of Dots, Chief Executive Officer Sam Altman said, broadening its ambitions beyond the premium subscribers targeted at launch. The AI agents are currently included in Pro plans, including the $100 tier, as well as Business Premium and Enterprise plans in eligible markets.

Dots run on GPT-6 Astra and have their own cloud computers and browsers, allowing them to keep working between conversations across more than 4,000 connected apps. They can handle research, calendars and coding tasks, with custom rules governing when they need approval. Conversations with a Dot do not count toward ChatGPT usage limits, but tasks it starts or manages in ChatGPT Work or Codex consume the usual allowance.

The planned consumer version would broaden OpenAI’s competition with Meta’s Muse, which launched for US consumers and is free to start within a usage limit. OpenAI also introduced a $500 monthly Pro 500 plan at DevDay, offering 25 times the usage allowance of ChatGPT Plus and access to Ultrafast, a speed tier that generates up to 300 tokens per second in Codex. That higher tier is not required to use Dots.
