OpenAI executed a global Codex reset on Oct 7 after users voted against a set of proposed improvements, according to Codex lead Tibo Sottiaux. The reset is part of a 28-day daily shipping cycle where the company provides either a functional update or a full system reset for Codex and other work products based on community input. The sprint began on Oct 4 and initially delivered a 50% speed optimization for GPT-6 Astra and GPT-6.1 Sol, raising throughput from 30 to 50 tokens per second.
