A collection of the world's largest cloud computing companies will more than triple their annual investment over a two year period, JPMorgan projects. The group, which includes Amazon, Microsoft, and Google, will reach a combined capital expenditure of $1.489 trillion in 2027. This represents a 65% year over year growth rate and follows a 103% increase in 2026.
JPMorgan projections suggest global AI and data center investments will hit between $5 trillion and $7 trillion by 2030. CoreWeave, one of the highlighted hyperscalers, increased its backlog to $130 billion from $99 billion last quarter. Other beneficiaries include Nebius, which holds more than $40 billion in customer commitments backed by Meta and Microsoft, and GE Vernova, which recorded $2.4 billion in data center orders in a single quarter.
