The semiconductor giant's total financial obligations expanded significantly this period, driven in part by an agreement with AI startup Anthropic with a reported contracted value exceeding $180 billion. Commitments rose to $279 billion from $119 billion in the previous quarter, according to disclosures that also detailed an investment portfolio of 229 private and 13 public companies. Nvidia shares rose 2% as the company released these figures alongside a massive capital return plan.

The board authorized a $150 billion increase to the share repurchase program, the largest such authorization boost in history, which brings the total remaining authorization to $235 billion. CEO Jensen Huang said the company's cash generation provides the capacity to both return value to shareholders and invest in accelerated computing through fiscal 2028.
