Over 70,000 customers in five European countries currently use Tesla's supervised self-driving software, averaging more than 1 million km of driving per day. The company released a safety dashboard on September 1 showing that Full Self-Driving (Supervised) had a 4.1x lower crash rate than manual driving across 100 million km of public roads. This open-sourced data includes scenario tests in six European cities that achieved a 99% pass rate with zero safety-critical events.
The disclosure comes before a potential EU-wide approval vote scheduled for October 6, 2026. Tesla shared the same dashboard with all EU Member States in April 2026, claiming that the 19,400 road deaths recorded in Europe in 2025 were largely preventable with the current technology.
