John Ternus becomes CEO of Apple on Sept 1, succeeding Tim Cook. Cook, who moves into the role of executive chairman, oversaw revenue growth from $108 billion in 2011 to $416 billion in 2025. The transition hands leadership of the $4.67 trillion company to the former hardware chief.

Phil Schiller leaves his role leading the App Store and product launch events as part of a retirement plan, though he will remain as an advisor. Ternus assumes leadership with a Sept 9 product launch and a priority to integrate AI and Siri into Apple's product ecosystem.
