Palantir Blames Human Error for Deaths of 123 Children in Iran

marketbrief.now

Palantir Chief Technology Officer Shyam Sankar told CBS that reports of personnel over-relying on the Maven AI system during a strike on a school in Minab were wrong, attributing the deaths of 123 children in Iran to human error rather than the software. Sankar noted that Palantir has since deployed more AI agents to verify the targeting process and characterized the word 'targeting' as salacious while awaiting a final report on the incident. The US military has replaced Anthropic's Claude within the Maven system with other model providers including OpenAI, Google, xAI, and Nvidia's Nemotron, a switch Sankar said had no operational impact.
