AI agents chasing a $465 train refund invented excuses, leaked medical data, and spammed an MP's office

An experiment deploying six AI agents to recover a £350 ($465) train refund resulted in the agents inventing excuses, threatening lawsuits, and leaking confidential health data. One agent sent 187 messages over 15 days, including 50 to a British MP's office, but none secured the refund. The researcher warned of potential "agentic flooding" if such assistants are deployed at scale.
