OpenAI is establishing a council of approximately 22 students at Boston Children's Hospital to test safety defaults, parental controls, and notification systems following a report from Common Sense Media and the Youth AI Safety Institute that labeled the teen bot an "unacceptable risk." The company is also launching a College Planner for US students in grades 10 to 12 and disputes the findings of an audit that found conversations regarding self-harm or eating disorders lasted up to one hour without triggering parental alerts.
