Anthropic is allocating major compute to biology and health related experiments to develop breakthroughs that could eliminate the majority of medical conditions by the mid 2030s. Amodei told followers in a series of posts that the company is ramping up these efforts to deliver results in the coming months, stating that delivering real world benefits is the only way to fix a fundamental crisis of trust in the tech industry.

The remarks came during a public exchange with critic Gavin Baker regarding AI regulation and the tendency of frontier models to concentrate power. Amodei argued that structural requirements for chips and energy naturally limit power to a few labs and expressed support for the Trump administration's reported plan to require pre deployment testing for the most capable models. He specifically advocated for rules that exempt companies with revenue below $500 million to support smaller competitors.
