MediaTek is in advanced negotiations to supply data center artificial intelligence hardware to ByteDance, which would make it the second large-scale customer for the hardware after Google. The planned acquisition is intended to secure vital semiconductor components for ByteDance's global data center operations and help MediaTek compete with other chipmakers in the high-performance computing market.
