The AI company will commit to a six year agreement for 460MW of computing capacity at a West Virginia campus to expand its infrastructure. Anthropic will pay Nscale $45B for the access, utilizing Nvidia Vera Rubin chips that come online in late 2027.
Google and Microsoft both negotiated for capacity at the Monarch campus before Anthropic secured the deal. Microsoft withdrew during a data center portfolio review, and Google backed off after reassessing compute needs and capital expenditures. Nscale will spend approximately $71B to develop the site.
