Kioxia plans a $11.3 billion high-density 3D NAND facility at its Kitakami plant to serve as the primary hub for AI data center production. The company and SanDisk are scaling capacity to address tightening global memory and storage supplies.
Kioxia is seeking Japanese government subsidies to cover roughly one-third of the costs for the buildout. The multiyear investment continues through 2032 to keep pace with booming AI demand.
