Anthropic Licenses $300M Opaque Systems Tech to Process Sensitive AI Data

Anthropic has licensed technology from Opaque Systems in a $300M deal and hired several employees, including the CEO and CTO, to deploy AI tools in hospitals and banks using a platform that runs AI jobs in hardware-sealed environments with cryptographic verification of data handling. Opaque Systems was valued at $300M after a $24M Series B in February and has raised $55.5M total since originating as a UC Berkeley RISELab project about 10 years ago, while it is not yet known if it will continue serving existing clients such as Accenture and ServiceNow.
