Sanders Vows Federal Ban on Flock AI Cameras Tracking 20 Billion Vehicles Monthly

US Senator Bernie Sanders will introduce a bill to completely outlaw the use of AI-powered license plate readers and other mass tracking systems nationwide. The proposed legislation targets Flock and similar AI surveillance networks to protect the privacy of Americans.

The proposal follows increasing scrutiny toward Flock, which operates more than 120,000 cameras performing 20 billion vehicle scans per month. Senator Josh Hawley launched an investigation into the company's data collection, while Texas Governor Greg Abbott ordered state agencies to pause funding for the technology.
