OpenAI co-founder Greg Brockman published an open letter signed by a coalition including Google, Microsoft, AWS, and Anthropic to urge a global surge in cyber defense. The group warns that AI-enabled attacks will become more sophisticated and widespread in the coming months, placing hospitals, water treatment plants, and internet infrastructure at risk.
The letter calls on frontier AI companies to provide funding, training, and model access to under-resourced defenders to fix weaknesses accumulated over years. Sam Altman stated that the moment is critically important and only an intense collective response will be effective, adding that time to act is limited.
