Taiwan Proposes NT$10,000 Resident Cash Handout to Mark First Double Digit Growth Since 2010

Taiwan reported 12.9% growth in the second quarter as global demand for AI chips spiked. The Statistics Bureau in Taipei raised the 2026 growth forecast to 11.05%, putting the hub on track for its first double digit annual increase since 2010, though Lai noted that gains have remained uneven across various industries.
