Developers can now open any GitHub repository in a browser to automatically provision backend services and databases without needing a local environment. The new tool from Base44, called Base Code, scans repositories to establish a governed cloud space that replaces the need to synchronize files among team members. This model-agnostic editor is free for 30 days and enables software development from mobile devices, with planned integrations for WhatsApp and iMessage. The product follows the release of the Base 1 model in June and Superagents in March. Base44's annual recurring revenue passed $200M ARR in August, just five months after reaching $100M and roughly a year after the firm was acquired by Wix for $80M.
