Anthropic Launches First Public Study of AI User Experience

The company is using an AI-powered interviewer to collect data on how people use artificial intelligence and what they want from the firms building the technology. The study runs from Sept 29 to Oct 6 and is open to all Claude and Claude Code users on the Free, Pro, and Max tiers. Unlike previous efforts, participants can choose to make their interview transcripts public to provide an open record for researchers and the public.

This project follows a study conducted last December in which 81,000 people shared their hopes and fears about AI in what Anthropic called the largest qualitative study ever done. The current data will create a social science dataset and will be used to inform decisions and research at The Anthropic Institute.
