xAI has released a persistent AI agent system that operates on independent hardware to execute tasks across various third party applications. Grok Bot utilizes a remote computer provisioned by SpaceXAI, enabling it to maintain browser logins and files independently of the user's local device. This infrastructure allows the bot to continue processing workflows after a user disconnects, assigning one machine per account to facilitate data sharing between multiple agents.

Users can create custom skills by recording up to 10 minutes of a manual workflow. The launch also includes Grok Build, a tool that audits Windows PCs to remove bloatware, trial software, and preinstalled games. Early reports indicate the ability to connect several Gmail and Slack accounts distinguishes Grok Bot from other managed agents including Codex and Claude Cowork.
