OpenAI Says Altman Was Unaware of Medicare Breach at Australia Meeting

marketbrief.now

OpenAI Chief Strategy Officer Jason Kwon told an Australian parliamentary inquiry that Sam Altman did not know about the Medicare portal breach when he met Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles on Sept. 1, even though the company had discovered the incident in August. Kwon disclosed the gap while appearing before the Joint Select Committee on Artificial Intelligence in Sydney on Oct. 6. OpenAI also said it supports mandatory disclosure rules and described the Medicare breach as not super sophisticated.
