Supabase Acquires Turso to Build Database Platform for Agentic Era

Infrastructure combining lightweight databases and petabyte scale Postgres will now serve as the foundation for a new technical stack for autonomous agents. Supabase announced on Oct 2 that it has acquired Turso to create a database platform designed specifically for the "agentic era," with further details presented during a keynote event the same day.

The acquisition was met with mixed commentary from the tech community; investor Theo called Turso's technology "good" but criticized the company's founder for poor business leadership. Theo noted that the founder had previously asked him to invest but later declined the capital because a scout was not leading the funding round.
