The company's Qwen model series has surpassed competing systems from Meta and Alphabet to lead the market in open-weight software distribution. This open-weight family reached more than 3 billion global downloads over the last six months to become the world's most used AI model.

Hugging Face recorded 151,448 Qwen-based derivatives, a volume that is 2.6 times Meta's overall footprint and 4.7 times that of Llama repositories. Qwen has become part of the default workflow for developers choosing which models to fine-tune and deploy.
