Navitas has won a contract from the US Army to create a domestic production line for high-voltage semiconductors used in military hardware. The project focuses on the development of next-generation 10 kV silicon carbide (SiC) power semiconductors, and shares of the company rose more than 20% following the announcement. The technology is intended for mission-critical systems and could enable the use of solid state transformers. This capability may allow AI data centers to convert medium voltage grid power directly to 800V DC, aligning the company with Nvidia's 800V HVDC roadmap for power infrastructure.
