The company's new container infrastructure enables AI agents to initialize their sandboxes with a p50 time-to-interactive of 648 ms. This update reduces startup times by 6x and allows agents to select specific images and instance types at runtime, with all environments managed via a Durable Object.
Cloudflare also released filesystem snapshots in public beta for these containers. These changes are part of the company's "Birthday Week" of product updates and involve a complete rebuild of the Containers service specifically for agent workloads.
