A new AI "czar" will be appointed in the near future to lead a federal "AI Force" modeled after the Space Force. President Trump announced the initiative to ensure the U.S. maintains its technological lead over China and pledged that the administration will not hinder or stifle the growth of the artificial intelligence industry through excessive regulation.
Existing criminal and civil justice systems will be used to handle abuses of the technology rather than creating new constraints. Trump characterized AI as the "next Industrial Revolution" that could eventually account for 25% of U.S. GDP and specified that only "high I.Q. individuals" should apply for the czar position.
