A proposed class-action lawsuit filed in June alleges Anthropic misled customers by marketing its $200 Claude Max plan as having 20x the usage of the Pro tier. The complaint claims the 20x multiplier applies only to a 5 hour session window and not to separate weekly caps, which Anthropic does not disclose. In practice, the $200 plan provides approximately 2x the weekly usage of the $100 Max 5x plan.

The lawsuit alleges the Max 5x plan delivers 3.5x Pro weekly usage, while the Max 20x plan delivers 6 to 8x. Plaintiffs argue that these restrictions are not meaningfully explained during the purchase flow, despite a clarification on the pricing page. The case is ongoing and the claims have not been proven in court.
