Long-session image use and an automated conversation title feature triggered inefficiencies that drained user quotas. OpenAI will reset usage for all paid subscribers at 2 p.m. PT on August 24 following the deployment of technical fixes.
The company identified high p95+ usage for Computer History as a primary driver of the drain. A new efficiency project will start next week to further optimize the service, though some users report that the system continues to consume usage twice as fast as normal.
