A study proposes treating decision tree structures as first-class modeling objects in agent-based agro-ecological models to address limitations of classical global sensitivity analysis on branched parameter spaces. Using advanced surrogate modeling techniques, the approach encodes the crop-management itinerary of the MAELIA platform as a hierarchical design space with categorical and numerical variables.
