Microsoft reduced its internal spending on Anthropic’s Claude AI by more than 33% from an annualized rate of $1 billion earlier this year, and Meta halved its employee seats for Claude Code from 60,000 to 30,000, as both companies shift staff toward their own proprietary AI models.
