Nvidia expanded its collaboration with MediaTek to build AI platforms from the edge to the cloud, integrating custom XPUs into rack-scale AI factories. MediaTek will adopt the NVLink Fusion platform to provide hyperscalers and frontier model developers a faster path to deploy scalable AI infrastructure across local computing and automotive sectors.
The effort is backed by a $3.5 billion investment in convertible bonds, part of a record $3.9 billion offering that included participation from Alphabet. The deal shifts MediaTek’s strategic positioning from ASIC design to system-level design, leveraging Nvidia's mature ecosystem to accelerate the deployment of custom silicon.
