Alibaba Launches Open Weight Qwen 3.8 27B to Bring Frontier AI to Smartphones with Day 0 Support
Releases48d agoThese latest releases by Alibaba Cloud provide developers and hardware manufacturers with the files needed to host the newest series of multimodal models on private infrastructure. The 27B parameter dense model, released under an Apache 2.0 license, is tailored for real world coding and office workflows with a native context window of 262K tokens that can expand to 1M. Alibaba also released open weights for the larger Max level Qwen3.8 2.4T A95B model.
MediaTek provides Day 0 support for the 27B model on its Dimensity flagship mobile SoC and Auto Cockpit C-X1 to facilitate agentic AI in smartphones and vehicles. Other launch partners include LM Studio for laptop deployments, Nvidia RTX Spark for local developer use, and Cerebras for dedicated server deployments.
