President Donald Trump announced that Micron will build new facilities across the country for artificial intelligence and advanced computing. This $10 billion investment in research labs adds to a previous $250 billion commitment by the company to expand its U.S. semiconductor manufacturing and R&D footprint.
Trump credited his policies for the move, stating the expansion will create tens of thousands of jobs and return critical technologies to the U.S. He congratulated Micron CEO Sanjay Mehrotra, framing the investment as part of a "new Golden Age of Science."
