New York City Comptroller Mark Levine has written to Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei requesting the company postpone its reported $2 trillion IPO to address governance and accountability concerns. Levine, whose office holds $7 million in exposure to Anthropic, cited a draft prospectus that devotes 80 pages to risk disclosures and labeled a White House safety accord as merely "morally binding" and insufficient. He referenced internal warnings from Anthropic, including an estimated 10% risk of human extinction within a decade and concerns that AI agent swarms could seize the internet within 6 to 12 months.
