OpenAI Makes Baseten Exclusive Open Source Provider for B2B Marketplace

Corporate clients can now apply their OpenAI contract credits toward the use of open-source tokens managed by Baseten. The infrastructure firm has joined the OpenAI B2B marketplace as the exclusive provider for open-model inference, enabling enterprise users to integrate frontier open-source models natively within Codex and the Responses API.

The partnership allows AI companies to operate a mix of proprietary and open-source models at scale without needing separate payment agreements for each. By permitting existing OpenAI spending commitments to cover Baseten's inference services, OpenAI is incorporating a hybrid model ecosystem into its enterprise offering.
