PM Carney Launches New National AI Council to Protect Democracy

Prime Minister Mark Carney established the National Council on Artificial Intelligence to provide the Government of Canada with expert guidance on making technology safer and ensuring its evolution benefits the general population. Member Yoshua Bengio indicated the group will work to shape a more beneficial AI trajectory for the citizens of Canada while supporting federal government operations.
