A series of new capabilities including secure user memory and a sandbox file API were introduced to the agent platform on Sept. 24. LangChain announced the version 0.8 update during a keynote at the Interrupt conference, where it debuted HTTP channels that enable developers to set custom service triggers for agents. The software now supports proactive agents that run in the background through the use of cron expression schedule files. To increase efficiency, LangChain also partnered with p0 to integrate parallel search capabilities into the framework, allowing agents to conduct multiple searches simultaneously.
