The product and operations teams for the TRAE coding tool and Coze agent platform now report to Zhao Qi, the head of Doubao's product division. Under the integration, TRAE Work and Coze will merge into Doubao’s productivity capabilities, while TRAE IDE and CLI will evolve as a programming line under the Doubao brand. A standalone product named Doubao Work will launch within days as a unified brand for AI office work.
CEO Liang Rubo told employees in August that Doubao will become a "trunk" AI business to focus the company on AI, information platforms, and transaction services. The reorganization follows the previous merger of the Feishu collaboration suite, known as Lark internationally, into the Doubao organization. ByteDance is shifting resources toward coding tools and productivity agents to improve monetization and compete with Tencent, as consumer chatbot revenue remains low relative to compute costs.
