Amazon Web Services will build secure data centers for the U.S. government featuring 100,000 chips as part of a broader infrastructure agreement. The cloud provider plans to deploy 2 million additional Blackwell Ultra, Rubin, and Rubin Ultra units across its global network in 2027 and 2028. This expansion includes the integration of Vera CPUs and NVLink Fusion memory to support agentic and physical AI.
The new order is incremental to a March announcement where AWS pledged to add over 1 million units starting in 2026, bringing total gross additions to more than 3 million through 2028. Amazon is also incorporating Nvidia's Nemotron open models into Bedrock and SageMaker and adopting the Omniverse, Cosmos, Isaac, and Jetson stacks for its warehouse robotics fleet. Nvidia noted that demand for these components is running ahead of previous forecasts.
