New home automation hardware will integrate Siri AI more deeply into household management. The product line enters the market on October 13, headlined by a 6 inch display hub that recognizes users by face or voice to show personalized messages and calendars. This central controller manages HomeKit enabled locks and thermostats, and arrives alongside a refreshed HomePod mini and an Apple TV with upgraded processors.
The expansion marks one of the first hardware initiatives since John Ternus assumed the role of CEO. Beyond the initial release, the company is developing a privacy focused home sensor and a high end 9 inch hub featuring a robotic arm capable of rotating the display 360 degrees to follow users across a room.
