Every user of Codex and ChatGPT Work will receive a "banked reset" to restore usage limits. OpenAI is issuing the credit to celebrate the Codex tool reaching 20 million active users this week, according to Tibo Sottiaux. These credits are provided to be used at the discretion of the account holders.

The company is investigating user reports that usage limits are draining faster than expected. Sottiaux said fraud-prevention systems have flagged certain accounts that converted subscriptions into API traffic through third-party services to share access across multiple users.
