Two former employees and a contractor at Super Micro were terminated after a board-led probe identified them as the drivers of an illegal export-diversion operation. The investigation found no evidence that current senior management had knowledge of an alleged $2.5 billion scheme to smuggle hardware containing Nvidia chips into China.

The company has adopted additional export-compliance measures and continues to cooperate with government investigators. The internal review concluded there were no direct sales of restricted products to banned parties and no issues with the company's previously issued financial statements.
