Global tech firms accelerated their purchase of server hardware to support new artificial intelligence workloads. Monthly sales grew 52% at Hon Hai, the electronics manufacturer also known as Foxconn, in a Sept. 5 report. The company stated that third-quarter performance is expected to exceed market expectations following improvements in business visibility over the previous month.
The sales lift was driven by demand for servers used in the buildout of AI computational capacity. This growth corresponds with a revised internal forecast, which suggests that current AI strength is translating into a volume of orders that beats previous analyst estimates for the current period.
