Sample generations labeled as GPT-6 Sol surfaced Saturday, with one account describing the model as faster than GPT-6 Astra but generally weaker on output quality. The same post said OpenAI was internally testing Sol and said one zero-shot task took 15 minutes and 60,000 total tokens at max effort.
A repost showed a BMW M4 Competition SVG labeled as a Sol output completed in about three minutes using about 28,000 tokens at max effort. OpenAI started rolling out GPT-6 Astra on Sept. 3, and a follow-up post said Astra was released soon after internal testing started and speculated Sol could arrive before the end of September, though the poster said the timing was uncertain.
