Elon Musk's SpaceX will produce its own blades and vanes for gas turbines to accelerate electricity availability, the Financial Times reports. The company plans to manufacture these components to bypass industry delivery queues that currently stretch to 2030, a move that may force established turbine suppliers to expand their production capacity. More than 300 engineers have been assigned to a data center project to redesign existing facilities for improved power and cooling redundancy.

This strategic overhaul follows reliability issues and outages that occurred during the 122 day build of the Colossus data center. SpaceX is now prioritizing stability over construction speed and tightening its building practices, a shift that may slow the pace of new data center build-outs. The company's redesign effort focuses on ensuring infrastructure reliability before further expanding its AI power network.
