Nvidia Approaches Apollo to Build AI Data Center Network in Old Telephone Buildings

Nvidia is in discussions with Apollo to establish a distributed system of small AI processing hubs across as many as 20 states in the US by converting existing real estate owned by a struggling telecommunications company, according to a report from The Information. The company is exploring the retrofit of old telephone buildings as a strategy to avoid the public and regulatory opposition that often accompanies the construction of large, traditional data center facilities.
